Many of us love our butterflies so now that summer has gone we’re left with just using them for our crafting. Today’s project is a summery reflection of time passing into autumn…
Using one of Tim's layering stencils for both positive (Scattered straw DI) and negative (Tumbled glass DI) masking techniques I added interest to this piece of backing paper from my scrap box:

The paper was mounted onto a mat, edged with Scattered straw DI:
Next I stamped butterflies onto white card and coloured them with the blue and yellow DIs before cutting them out with the matching dies and edging them in black:

The Weathered clock was cut from mountboard and coloured with the Tumbled glass DI (direct to paper) before misting it with water to get that aged, mottled effect. When dry it was edge with the Scattered straw DI and then covered with Crackle accents gloss. When that had dried and cracked it was rubbed with Raisin Adirondack dye:

Flower shapes were punched from blue card and smudged with Scattered straw then edged with Raisin dye. The centres are card candy:

The basic layering is done with the part clock w/hands and a strip of fabric alphabet tape (7 Gypsies). Next came the butterflies and flowers:
