Vintage card for Dad by Chris W

Yes, Father's Day will be here next weekend (Sunday June 16th) so here's a quick vintage style card for you to make.

The background is made from a simple patterned paper on a brown mat using a corner punch to add a little interest. You can see that the larger elements are all from the one stamp set (Time traveller). I added a zipper pull on a chain using a memo pin. (I've had the zipper pulls for years but there are similar items called 'Word sticks' which are part of Tim's Idea-ology range.

I used watercolour crayons to colour the images and Vintage photo Distress ink pad to darken some of the edges.

You can use an oval frame die of about the same size as the stamp to add both depth and texture. The ticket was in a strip of mixed message ones I was given for Christmas but you can easily make your own using the ticket strip die and either Tim's ticket stamps or, as I often use, the Creative Expressions ticket stamps.

This sentiment is great and useful for all types of greetings cards regardless of gender. You can see that there are various layers and patterns used for textures here and I made it as an easel card just to make it a little different. You can make your own putting your personal slant on it of course.

Hope to see you soon,

Chris xxx
