Tu-witt, tu-whoo...

I'm delighted to see a resurgence of owls this year, they're beautiful creatures and great for crafting.

Today we feature this beautiful owl die which is one of the new Cheery Lynn steampunk series...

I created the patterned card for the bow front by blending purple and mauve distress inks together then water blending them too. When still very slightly damp I used bubble wrap with green ink and finally stencilled in blue. When all the ink was dry I stippled white gesso in patches with a dry brush.

I cut an oval in the centre and scored and folded the sides to create flaps which were then taped behind blue card which was also stippled with gesso before the owl was mounted.

Lastly, I used silver ferns and a coordinated coloured flower for one corner to finish it.

This shows the bow front from a side view...

You can make your own version of this if you like it but please do check out the new Cheery Lynn steampunk series of dies HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week crafting,

Chris xxx
