Today’s card was inspired by an old set of scrapbooking stamps I came across that I’ve never used! The moment I saw this particular stamp the outline of the card appeared in my head…
The palette for the card is blue and black. The great thing about black and white papers is that you can change them to any colour using Tim's DIs, this became Weathered wood (blue) and black:
Next came the Doodle squares mask with some Rusty hinge DI:
I cut a map from an atlas and inked the edges and this is the stamp that provoked the concept for the card (stamped in black archival ink):
Also stamped in black are the travel badge and the ticket using Tim's Travel labels and Odds & ends stamp sets. Once stamps they were lightly/patchily coloured with the blue before being edged with the brown. The decorative bar was created from an off cut of mount board from a Trellis Frameworks die, painted with Weathered wood DP:
I also used die cuts - Cheery Lynn Gears and Marainne Classic cars:

Brilliant card Chris and such fabulous use of those stamps! Love how you put it all together!!
ReplyDeleteSo pleased that you showed the background with the doodle square stencil, it looks amazing, as does that map as a topper. I love the car, I can think of lots of uses for that...... and how clever to 'ground' it with an off cut from the trellis. Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteGreat card Chris, love the colours and patterns and the overall composition. Xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card - love the minimal colour palette and that fab background stencilling. Love the map and car too!
