Floral flourish

Although I’m not a huge fan of florals I seem to be using them a little more these days and my post today is a vibrant choice…

My cards seem to be standardizing on 8" x 8" at the moment so I cut some white card at an appropriate size and 'marbled' Dylusions spray inks onto it. Once done I used a scroll stencil (you can use any pattern) misted with water to water bleach it. When dry, it was edged with Walnut stain DI:

I mounted the background onto black card and then stained some tissue tape with Crushed olive DI:

This beautiful symetrical flourish is cut using a Spellbinders die:

Using a scrap piece of board I scraped some white gesso over a couple of areas of the background to act as a base for stamping:

Black archival ink used with some scroll and text stamps over the gesso provide some light relief as well as adding texture:

The black flourishes and some die cut ferns have been added. I used some of the Spellbinders Grand peony creations dies to cut flower shapes which I sprayed with the Dylusions inks with water and then shaped with the Bloom Impression tool whilst they were wet:

Tim's handy Simple sayings sentiment stamps were used to create the greeting. Both that and the flower have been edged with the DI. The flower centre is just a plain, shiny, black bead:

You can see that additional flourishes (left and right) have been used to wrap around the sentiment:
