Oh Christmas Tree

As a relatively new crafter this is my first Christmas as a Tim Holtz fan! I have treated myself to some Christmas goodies and wanted to share this card with you today.

I started by creating my checkered background using a stencil from my stash. For the lower panel I used cut and dry foam through the stencil with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. For the the top panel I re - inked my stencil and spritzed with water before turning it over onto my cardstock. It gives a much more subtle, watercolour effect.

Both panels were distressed at the edges with my distress tool and vintage photo distress ink before mounting on kraft card. (Sorry about the lighting in the photograph.)

My tree (from Tim's Christmas Blueprint set) was stamped with Forest Moss DI and the manilla cardstock lightly coloured with Old Paper DI before cutting out and edging with Vintage photo DI.
I then gathered my remaining elements, my sentiment (from my stash), a star and some holly (from Tim's Retro Christmas set).
I mounted on some red and then green card before adding to my card.
Thanks for looking
Nikki
