Tiny Tattered Florals ……. Little Darlings!

Hello to you all. For my first project this month I am sharing a small plaque I have made using those amazingly delicate Tiny Tattered Florals. As you all know I love making flowers using the Tattered Dies, so it was wonderful to get the chance to make some with the new Tim Holtz Thinlits Die.

I started with a piece of heavy grey board (measuring 5.5" x 6") and used a brickwork stencil to create the wall using Tim Holtz Texture Paste. I then gave the whole board a coat of Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paint in Nougat. Edges and splatters were done with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I used the Tim Holtz Sissix Window Die for my window which I cut in coaster board this time and gave then both a coat of Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paint, this time in Victorian Lace and again used Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges and for some splatters.  This piece of pink paper was in my scrap box and looked like old wallpaper, so I aged it a bit and found some lace for a small curtain.  I stuck everything together and then remembered the little girl reading I had stamped and painted! So I had to squeeze her in but it did work!

I used the Pediments die to create the top of the window and again used Fresco Finish Paints but this time in Mocha Mousse. I scuffed the edges a bit to give it an old feel and then stuck everything down onto the prepared plaque.

And then to the flowers! I won't show you how to make them as Tim has a superb video HERE which shows how to cut them out and roll them up.

The pink flowers were made from cream cardstock which had been sprayed with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink Spray and the cream ones were made from ordinary cream cardstock with a little edging in Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

The sunburst flower was created by inking the inner leaves with Mustard Seed Distress Ink before I rolled it up. My branches were cut from the Spring Greenery Decorative Strip and together with the leaves cut from the Mini Tatted Florals set coloured with Bundled Sage Distress Ink.

Just to show you how tiny the smallest of the roses are here they are alongside a five pence piece.

I finished with a sentiment cut from the Journey Thinlits Dies. I really enjoyed making this little plaque and I hope my little granddaughter will appreciate this when she gets a bit older.

Thank you for joining me today and I hope I may have given you some ideas for using those little darlings!
