Use your left overs .......

Hi Everyone, Brenda here and I want to show that by using up left over paints from a project can be very beneficial.

Whilst prepping for DecoArt workshops I will use any left over colours and paint or dip tags, pieces of card or media boards into it and keep the pieces for a 'rainy day'. This project today is one that started life in this way.

I didn't record the paints I used to mix the colours but I am sure there was some phthalo blue, cerulean blue and white involved plus I think a little paynes grey and I stamped with paint that was another blue and white blend. You can see the wonderful texture it creates, but of course (teaching grandmother to suck eggs - sorry!) don't forget to plunge your stamp in water straight away or clean it immediately so that the paint doesn't dry and clog up the recesses in the stamp.

Add some tissue tape and text stamping to create interest and the background is done.

Just some simple additions to this tag - a free vintage photo downloaded from the internet, a few paper flowers and a ribbon ........

..... eh voila the tag is finished. Not all my tags take forever to create thank goodness and I have to admit there are times I welcome that quick and easy make as I feel I have accomplished something in a fairly short while.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend.

hugs Brenda xxxx

  1. Your tag is fantastic! The background you created by mopping up your excess colors is so pretty.
