I am using them again, in a slightly different way today! To start, using a stencil and Grunge Paste I added arrows to a page. Then I brayered blue paint over the whole page. Please only use about a 5p sized blob of paint - it goes a long way!
Then I added white over the top, again with my brayer.
To add highlights of pink I repositioned my arrows stencil and rubbed tiny amounts of pink paint through the stencil. You really don't need to use much and you can remove excess with a baby wipe if you accidentally add too much!
I added more pink paint as highlights over the page picking up the textures left by the brayer.
To add a little more interest in the background (as before) I added stencils!I then stamped the main image on tissue paper and three crowns.
I left two crowns unpainted. I could have stamped these crowns straight on to my page but sometimes stamping doesn't go to plan and so adhering a tissue paper version saves messing up stamping! You will see, in the finished version that I replaced her hat with a crown and chopped off the two side bits from her head. I do like to use stamps as intended but sometimes it can refresh your view of your stamps if you alter them to suit your needs. I have cut up a few stamps to be able to use them in different ways. It takes courage the first time but after that you'll not look back!
This is my finished page. I drew round the arrows in pen to emphasise them and added a quotation attributed to Frederick the Great - clearly a sensible chap!
Thank you for stopping by today - much appreciated!
