Happy 2014 - Live everyday!

"Live everyday" is one of the sentiments on Tim’s Simple sayings stamp set and what better than to start 2014 with that as a motto? Here's a hanger to hang on the wall as a reminder:

I started with a rectangular piece of mountboard which I painted with Fresco Honey dew and then blotted Guacamole on the top in patches followed by just a delicate hint of Hey pesto:

I made a stencil by cutting some card with the (Sizzix) Arbor (by Prima) Bigz die...

...then used it to dab through some Holly Fresco. Once dry I stamped it with a script stamp and Snow cap archival ink:

Using Tim's Honeycomb stencil I dabbed Snowflake Fresco through it over the areas not covered by the flower:

Out came the faithful Tattered florals die which I used with mountboard. More Fresco - this time it was Pansy with Eggplant stippled round the centre and outer edges:

I used a blending tool to edge the board with Forest moss before mounting the flower onto it:

As I wanted the sentiment to match exactly, I painted some white card with the Guacamole Fresco and then stamped it with black archival ink when it was dry. The banner die is from The Sizzix Framelits Banners #2 set by Stephanie Barnard (this is SUCH a useful set, I reach for it time and time again!):

Next, I painted one of the smaller tattered flowers (also cut from the board) with Butternut Fresco and added some Rock candy glitter on the edges:

When everything was mounted, an eyelet in each corner served as the means to attach a string handle for hanging:

Thanks for dropping by - have a fabulous New Year and all the very best for 2014!
