I'm rather fond of this hat!

Hello! Hope this finds you you well! In my previous post I showed you how I made a tag using paints, a palette knife, Grunge Paste and stamps. Today I thought I'd show you another version using the same techniques but different colours! The basic principle is exactly the same except I started with a plain tag instead of using Tissue Wrap as a basis.
I started by scraping a thin covering layer of Yellow Submarine on to the tag using a palette knife (or old credit card!) As you go over areas that have already had a paint on you start to build layers - in the first photo (1) you can see lighter and darker areas where paint has naturally started to build up. Then I added a layer of white paint (2) and finally layers of yellow, blue and purple, using a baby wipe to remove any excess paint. The final stage was to add two Grunge Paste arrows and, when dry, I added paint with my finger and baby wiped off any excess as before.
The lady was created as before by stamping onto Tissue Paper and then painting the reverse with the same colours as the background. The hat was from a different stamp set but she looks might fine in it! I said in my last post that my Tim Holtz alphabet had been borrowed by a friend but luckily she'd returned in in time for this tag!
I hope that if you have never tried using paint in this way before that you feel more confident - you really don't need much equipment - do let me know if you do try, I'd love to see what you make!
