Wallflower card 2 - Thinking of You

Hi Brenda here and this is card no:2 in the Wallflower series of cards I am making and it's another very Spring-like creation.

I am loving making cards again and it will be lovely to have some in my box to be used this year. For some reason this reminded me of  bereavement card and hence the Thinking of You sentiment.

The background is another  6 x 6 from one sheet of 12 x 12, which means you can get four cards just from one piece, now that has to be good value doesn't it?

I gathered some bits together and placed them on my paper getting the design and layout sorted and then I set about staining the large flowers and inking everything. Those flowers started off as white would you believe?

I used victorian velvet and mustard see seed distress stain on them and spritzed them with water to get the colours to blend together more, then dried them with a heat gun.

The bow was cut in coredinations paper, sanded down and inked, I love the vintage feel to it and the simplicity of putting it together.

The bird from my box was covered in distress paints and some copper treasure gold and the little bird cage was stamped and cut out.

This is a fairly quick card to make up once you have the design in your head and know what elements you are going to use.

I hope your week is going well.

See you again soon.

hugs Brenda xx

  4. I love this Brenda - the flowers just make the whole piece look incredibly 3D as if they are part of the papers. The colours on the flowers are wonderful and I think I may have to have the bow die! x
