True Friendship

Hello and a warm welcome to you all.
Jennie here with you today with my first project for April.

I just love the new Tim Holtz Dapper paperstack and am fast working my way through it! These lovely dark blue papers contrast so beautifully with the text papers, so I decided to make a card for a special friend using some of the 6 x 6 pieces.

I layered these two pieces on to each other first, distressing the edges to give a little texture.

I have also fallen in love with this new lace die from Tim Holtz and it is a lovely complement to the darker papers.

This is a great sentiment from the Stampers Anonymous Shabby French set and I use it a lot. It stamps beautifully in Brown Archival Ink. Do check out the flowers that Susan has in the shop - there are some lovely little mulberry paper flowers which are just perfect for a small cluster on a card such as this.

I layered everything up on my card and added in a little bit of muslin for more texture and the butterfly (mainly to cover up a blob of ink which managed to get onto the lace!).

There is quite a bit of depth to this card without using any 3d foam mounts. This is easy to achieve if you don't put your tape or glue to the edges of your papers.

A great mix of vintage colours which I know my friend will love.

Thank you for joining me today.

Jennie x
