Home sweet home bunting

Well , Trace here and today I have made a fairly simple make ...using some great stamps from PaperArtsy, my trusty distress inks, some mdf bunting from Creative expressions and some DecoArt paint..oh and some of my trusty rusty wire!

So here is the finished make :

Sorry about the lack of clarity but in order to fit it all on , you lose some of the detail....

so here are a couple of detailed shots :

Now for the details :

I started by painting each piece of bunting with a few coats of titan buff DecoArt media paint...

I then edged each piece with walnut stain distress ink, it always makes such a difference...

For the home sweet home words , I inked the stamp from the set in jet black archival and stamped onto plain tissue wrap (yes still love this stuff!) and then heat set, fussy cut and added to the bunting  pieces using distress collage medium, firstly on the back of the tissue piece, applied then added coat over the front...and left to dry.

I then inked the mini number stamp using frayed burlap distress ink and randomly stamped over the top...and then re -edged with ground espresso distress ink.

For the filler pieces, with no additional elements I stamped numbers in frayed burlap and some text from another mini in walnut stain distress ink.

For the pieces with houses on , I inked the house designs, using jet black archival, stamped onto plain tissue wrap and then heat set and cut out...I added some soft colour by spritzing frayed burlap distress stain onto my craft sheet and picking up with a damp paint brush and adding lightly to the stamped tissue wrap design.

I added them all together using rusty wire ...but you could easily use string and
add pretty seam binding for a softer effect...
and this was so easy to do.

and here is it in a finished string ...

So I hope to be back soon with another make ...
keep those fingers inky!

Fresco Paint Greeting Cards

Addicted to Art - Fresco Paints and Layering Stencils

I saw some cards recently by Emma Godfrey from PaperArtsy using Fresco paints to create a masterboard as the foundation of the designs. I liked this idea - so today am sharing my own version. (Thanks Emma!)

1. Take a few chalk paints and a credit card and begin layering up your card - I started with a sheet of A4.

2. When you are happy - and it doesn't need to be a masterpiece - cut the card into the sizes you require. My finished cards are 6" square (15cm sq.). I wanted to make them all slightely different so now began adding additional paints using cut and dry foam through layering stencils.

 3. Then I added a little stamping, some random lines with the edge of my credit card and some circles with a bottle top. The yellow dots are with my finger.

4. Add some scribbles to highlight and add interest.

I then layered up my cards and added some greetings (these were done on my computer).

Here are some of the finished cards:

Special Delivery

Hello and welcome today here at Country View Projects. I have been in a bit of a single layer postcard mode this month and today I'll share the VERY  last of these pages. Promise!

I just love the Tim Holtz Correspondence Stamps and find they are so wonderfully suited to so many different projects and then ...... I got the gorgeous Classics #13 set with the lovely postbox and even more correspondence style stamps to play around with. So here is the latest journey in the single layer stamping.

I apologise in advance for the "before" and "after" photographs - obviously taken on different days and resulting in completely different colours! Even my Lightroom software couldn't make them look alike!

See what I mean !!! I started with the PostBox and a covering with a post it note before over stamping with the two lovely flourish style stamps.

I covered the registration stamp in the top right hand corner so the franking stamp would appear underneath.

Before everything got taken away I stamped the gate behind the the letter box and made my Special Delivery as bold as I could. I have used combinations of Archival and Distress Ink, sometimes stamping off to get even more tones.

I finally used more Distress Ink to make it look a little aged with the coffee stains from a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil.

You can see from the close up how well these stamps and colours all work together. A final splattering of Distress Ink also gave it an aged look.

I blended Distress Ink around the edges and then carefully spritzed this with water to give a softer and more aged edge.

Gorgeous stamp sets which can really be used in so many different ways. Can you tell I love them!

Thank you for joining me today and I hope you are having a lovely week.
