Hi everyone, we hope you're all getting plenty of crafting time in!
Today I'm featuring the beautiful new Cheery Lynn Hot air balloon dies which are part of the 'Steampunk series'. I fell in love with these dies when I saw them and they're really easy to use, the card just drops out of the die when cut.
First I prepared the base which started off as thin, white card. I wanted a rough, lined effect so I turned the ink pads upside down and dabbed them in patches over the card before blending ink over the top with a blending tool. I stencilled over some sections and then stamped other areas. Next, I embossed just odd parts before distressing the embossing very lightly in brown and then edging. Lastly I rubbed Treasure Gold over the embossing too, very, very lightly.
The side is simply grosgrain ribbon backed with double sided sticky tape and pleated.
There are two balloon dies in the pack and I stained a textured white card with the red and orange ink pads and stamped them in black with a script stamp (any) before cutting them out. I drew around the dies on black card to get the backing and finished them off with some micro bead chain.
This is the sentiment I used but you can use whatever you like. Once you've stamped and cut it to size simply round the corners and edge with distress ink before decorating with paper roses and leaves.
You can adapt this to your own version quite easily and it's another card that works really well for the guys.
Enjoy your week and thanks for stopping by,
