Going crazy with colour.....

Scribbly Birds Journal - Dylusions Paint
Hi everyone and welcome to my final project for the CVC project blog. I am leaving the team at the end of October after two great years!

So for my final project I have gone a little crazy with colour in my journal using a combination of Dylusions and Dina Wakley paints. The background was created by painting in patches with a combination of a brush and my fingers - no great plan... just adding the blue / yellow / green in various places.
I then added some white paint with a credit card and also through a layering stencil (Splotches.) I also added some background stamping in archival ink.
I die cut some scribbles and splats in white card and sponged some  of the same colours on them adding a little black archival to contrast.
I took a piece of thinner white card and lightly brushed with purple and blue paints - intentionally keeping it light and patchy. Once dry and stamped the scribbly birds and fussy cut.

A quote and some doodling around the page edges finished my page!

I hope you like it!

A simple start to Christmas!

Nikki Acton Simple Christmas Cards
Hello! I thought I would start making a few Christmas cards using up some scraps of paper lying around. These cards are 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm).

I have used Tim Holtz Ideology paper for these - not sure which packs - as they were scraps on my desk - but probably Crowded Attic.
I started with 2 layers - one 7x7cm and the other 7.5x7.5 and then cut my die cuts to coordinate - using Star dies and Christmas packages.
For the card on the left of the photo I added a little Hickory Smoke ink around the edges and stamped Happy Christmas from the Scribbly Trees Christmas stamp set around the edge of the card in Watering Can archival ink.  I stamped the same greeting on the red paper in versamark and embossed with white powder.
For the second card I kept it simpler - no ink - just layered the card and added an additional matt in gold card. Some twine and rhinestones from my stash finished the cards.

Scribbly Bird Celebrations

Scribbly Birds
I decided to reach for my scraps box for this card and found a background I had been playing with. This was mop up mostly with Deco Art paints.
I cut some strips and edge with Wilted Violet Distress Ink,
I stamped and inked my bird with Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio and a little Salty Ocean inks. Once cut out I added some additional violet around the edges.
I decided my bird needed some greenery so I die cut one of Tim Holtz Holiday Greens thinlits and added similar colours.
My greeting is from Tim Holtz Hashtags but I cut off the hashtag! A little lace was added too.

Summer Journalling

A2A - Lin Brown, Emma Godfrey PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylics and stamps
Hi everyone. I am slowly getting into doing a bit more for my journal. Today I am sharing a page created with PaperArtsy Fresco acrylics with Lin Brown and Emma Godfrey stamps,

I started by creating a background of various colours using a credit card to scrape paint across the page.
Once I was happy I added some stencilling with archival inks. I used one of Lin Browns stencils (link below).
Next to the stamping - again Lin Brown designs...
I then went back to my paints and added additional colour to the flowers, using translucent colours so some of the background contrasts remained. .
Once dry I took my white and black pens and added some highlights and stamped words.
