Scribbly Bird Celebrations

Scribbly Birds
I decided to reach for my scraps box for this card and found a background I had been playing with. This was mop up mostly with Deco Art paints.
I cut some strips and edge with Wilted Violet Distress Ink,
I stamped and inked my bird with Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio and a little Salty Ocean inks. Once cut out I added some additional violet around the edges.
I decided my bird needed some greenery so I die cut one of Tim Holtz Holiday Greens thinlits and added similar colours.
My greeting is from Tim Holtz Hashtags but I cut off the hashtag! A little lace was added too.

Wildflower and Crazy Cat birthday

Hi everyone. Today I am sharing this birthday card I made using the fabulous wildflower dies, one of Tim Holtz's releases this year.
I started by taking the latticework stencil and applying some versamark with cut and dry foam. I then sprayed with distress sprays - (scattered straw and bundled sage) and a little water.
I allowed this to dry and then cut an oval from the middle and also pencilled the same size oval another piece of card.
I added some distress ink to the card covering the area of the oval and splashed a little water on it.
Once dry I stamped my crazy cat - half way across the oval - and coloured using rusty hinge distress ink.
I die cut some wildflowers and coloured with distress inks.
I added some vintage photo to the edge of my top layer and round the oval aperture.
See you next time.

Birthday Tulip

Birthday season has begun in our household and as such I shall be busy making birthday related things for the next three months or so! This tag is no exception!
I started by adding a little tape to the very edges of my tag - this is so that it will minimise paint bleed on the other side where I'll write my greeting and also it gives a lovely clean edge to the front tag. Then, using a brayer, I added Inky Pool paint. You would normally start dark to light in your paints and whilst Inky Pool is a translucent paint (which means when it's put over the top of other paints it doesn't obscure them) I wanted some of the colour to peep through. Then I added Lake Wanaka and finally Antarctic.
With a little Cut and Dry foam I covered a leaf shape, using the different paints to create shading.
I did the same again with the flower shape.
I must confess that I was so engrossed in making my tag I forgot to photograph the next couple of stages! I stamped the face onto tissue paper and painted the reverse and then adhered it to the flower shape. Then I die cut two swirls from cream card and the 'grass' which I had added the remainder of left over green paint to before I die cut it. I then added Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to the tag and the swirls.
The final touches were to add a script stamp using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, some rings in Inky Pool paint and some lines in Vintage Lace. When it was al adhered together I added a label and that was that! Thank you, as always, for popping by!
