Card with wine blueprints by Tim Holtz

Hello everybody,
it's Monika here with a wine card.
On my blog, you can find the story of this card,
and here you can have a detailed tutorial.

1. I stamped the mini wine blueprints onto a watercolour paper (300gsm) with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink.

2. With using a ruler I made little images with distressed edges.

Here are my images:

3. I cut out two squares (two top layers) and a folded card from kraft paper.

4. I distressed the edges of the squares.

5. When I realised, I couldn't use all the images on my card, I decided to stamp the corkscrew onto the top paper.

6. I coloured the images with Ranger Distress markers and I used a wet brush to achieve a watercolour effect.

7. I poked holes in the corner of the images and I put tiny brads into the holes.

8. I inked the edges of the images and the card layers with Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks.

9. I adhered the images with foam tape adhesive onto the top card.

PaperArtsy Christmas ornaments

Hello Everybody,
it's Monika here after a long-long break :-)

So let me show you my vintage Christmas card that was made with a PaperArtsy Scrapcosy stamp set: ESC08

Here is my tutorial.

1. I stamped on thick watercolour paper with Antique Linen Distress ink and sprinkled it with Gold Tinsel embossing powder.

2. After melting the embossing powder I cut out the images.

3. I cut out a square from Kraft-Core paper and distress the edges with a sandpaper (you can make it with Tim's sanding grip as well).

4. I chose a Christmas embossing folder and since my card was bigger than the folder I embossed first the bigger part, then the rest. (My embossing folder was: Holly Swirls by Sizzix)

5. I sanded the embossed surface and with a knife, I distressed the edges and inked with Gathered Twigs.

6. With Ranger Distress inks (Barn Door, Scattered Straw) I coloured the ornaments.

7. I stamped with the tinsel stamp on the card and again I applied Gold Tinsel embossing powder (I wanted to hang my ornaments on the tinsel).

8. I put gold twine through the hole of the ornament and put double-sided glue tape on the back.

9. I adhered my ornaments on the card and I fixed the twines with double-sided glue tape 1/8".

10. I smeared Micro Glaze onto the inked surface of the ornaments for protection and for a little shine.

11. With the same stamping method I prepared the text, but here I used Gold embossing powder. I coloured it with Scattered Straw ink.

12. I cut out my card base from kraft paper and I put my card together.

13. I placed two golden yellow rhinestones to the corners.

I hope you like it! Happy crafting!

Card with PaperArtsy Zinski stamp

Hello everybody, it's Monika here.

When I first saw the PaperArtsy Zinski stamp (ZA13) I knew I needed that.
First I have made a card with a lovely creature/fairy/girl (whatever you like) from this set.

The basic card was cut out from a fuchsia cardstock with Sizzix Framelits die (658610).

The top was cut out from a white watercolour paper with a one size smaller rectangle die and I painted pink with DecoArt Poodleskirt Pink.

After drying I tapped watered white acrylic paint onto the pink card and I also spritzed with water.

Then I stamped circles with one of the stamps of the PaperArtsy EEG24 stamp set and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

As for the fairy... I stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black stamp and after I used clear embossing powder.
I coloured the fairy with Ranger Distress Markers (Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio, Picked Raspberry) and Zig Clean Markers (Flesh Colour, Blush).

The text (EEG18) was stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink then I added clear embossing powder.
I cut it out with scissors irregularly and I glued onto the card.

I hope you like it! Happy crafting!

Card with Flower Garden by Tim Holtz

It's Monika here again
with a floral card.
You know the theme of our May challenge
 over at Country View Challenges:

So here is my card with Tim's flowers.

Right now I just want to show you how you can make a background like this.

I painted blue a heavy weight cardstock (300gms/140lb).

After drying I stencilled with Tim's Burlap stencil and modelling paste.

After drying I took a toothbrush and grey paint, and I painted some stripes onto the card.

After I smeared Amsterdam white acrylic paint. You don't have to thin this acrylic paint with water because - I'm sorry to say this - there's hardly any pigment in it.

For the flowers I used Ranger Silver Pearl embossing powder and I coloured with watercolour technique.

What I used:

DecoArt Americana paint (Spa Blue, Neutral Grey, White Pearl)
Amsterdam acrylic paint (Zinc White)
Ranger embossing powder (Silver Pearl)
Ranger Distress marker (Worn Lipstick, Mowed Lawn)
Sizzix Thinlits Die, Handwritten Celebrate by Tim Holtz
Sizzix Thinlits Die, Alphanumeric (3/4") by Tim Holtz

I hope you like it! Happy crafting!

Round wooden box with Tim's butterflies - Flutter

Hello everybody, it's Monika here with two wooden boxes.

When my hubby saw one of these boxes - the blue one - he suddenly told me this:
"Now, this is beautiful!"
It was a really big compliment from him because mostly he just says 'hmmm' and sometimes he nods in addition when he takes a look at my creations :-)

Unfortunately when I was making the blue box I forgot to take pictures. But don't worry I made another one, a more feminine version of the original and this time I clicked a few times.

Well, here is the blue box:

I used poplar boxes. The blue is 14 cm, the pink is 16 cm in diameter.

I painted white the top with DecoArt Americana White Wash acrylic paint. I put at least two layers.
After drying I sanded with a very soft sanding paper to get a smooth surface for the easier stamping. So, I started to stamp the butterflies with Ranger Distress ink (Old Paper) and melted Ranger Gold embossing powder. (For the blue one I used silver embossing powder.)

The next step was to smear pink dye ink onto the top. For the pink I used Ranger Archival ink (Peony Pink) for the blue one Tsukineko Memento Sky Blue and Ranger Cobalt blue.

Then I coloured yellow the butterflies with Ranger Distress marker. For the blue one I smeared yellow dye ink all over the top. And actually I achieved the same effect with the pink box too because the Distress ink blotted when I applied the matte varnish in the end. And that was my goal.

I sanded the edges and inked with Ranger Archival Potting Soil.

I painted the bottom of the pink with Razzle Berry and I put Uniform Blue for the blue one.

Now let's see what I used:

DecoArt Americana acrylic paints (White Wash, Razzle Berry, Uniform Blue)
Ranger Archival inks (Potting Soil, Peony Pink, Cobalt)
Tsukineko Memento inks (Summer Sky, Dandelion)
Ranger embossing powders (Gold, Silver)
Ranger Distress inks (Old Paper, Iced Spruce)
Ranger Heat It craft tool
sanding paper
matte varnish

I hope you like it!

By the way, which one do you prefer?

Big hugs, Monika

Egg shaped Easter card by Tim Holtz

Hello everybody, it's Monika again!

I'm trying to make a few Easter cards before the holiday, so here is one of them.

And here is my step by step tutorial.

I cut out a large egg shaped card with Sizzix die from kraft paper.

Then a one size smaller from watercolour paper.

With white ink I stamped Tim's wildflowers onto the watercolour paper and sprinkled with white embossing powder.

With my heat tool I melted the embossing powder then I started to colour the egg with Distress inks and a sponge.

I spritzed with water and white the edge with Picked Fence paint.

From watercolour paper I cut out the butterflies with Tim's Sizzlits die and coloured with Distress markers. Then with a wet brush I blended the colours.

I'm sorry, I forgot to take pictures about the rabbit.  But first of all, I have to tell you that it was a wood mounted stamp before. But since I got my Misti Stamping tool I have transformed all my wood mounted stamp into a cling mounted stamp :-) So in this case I used my Misti and I stamped Tim's rabbit with Archival ink (Potting Soil) and after I put and melted clear embossing powder on it. I coloured with Distress markers.

I glued all the elements and then added chit chat stickers.

What I used:

kraft paper

watercolour paper

Sizzix Framelits Die, Eggs

Stampers Anonymous, wood mounted Easter Rabbit by Tim Holtz

Ranger embossing powders (Weathered White, Clear)

Ranger Distress inks (Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn)

Ranger Distress markers

Easter tag with Tim Holtz crazy bird

Hello Everybody,
It's Monika here with my second post.
This time I have brought you an Easter tag.
This:

And here is my step by step tutorial.

1. I cut out a bigger tag with Sizzix Framelits Tag die by Paula Pacual (658611) from kraft paper.

2. I stamped Tim Holtz background stamp on white cardstock with using Misti Stamping Tool.

3. I covered the stamped image with Ranger Clear embossing powder.

4. I put back the excess to the jar.

5. I heated the embossing powder on the stamped image.

6. I made it twice.

7. I cut out two one size smaller tags from my stamped cardstocks.

8. I inked the edges with Ranger Distress Gathered Twigs and glued the smaller tags on the big one (both sides).

9. I inked with green Distress inks a white watercolour paper and cut out the greens.

10. I placed and glued them on the tag.

11. I stamped the crazy bird and the bunny ears onto a watercolour paper with black Ranger Arcival ink.

12. I coloured them with watercolour technique using Ranger Distress markers.

13. I prepared many layered flowers a few months ago but I didn't use them, so I could just take three form my stash.

14. I placed and glued all the elements on the tag.
