Most of us who love altered art and up-cycling like to use our cardboard boxes and packaging where we can for our art. This crafter is no different so today I'm blogging a hanger which would be a kewl gift for hanging in a guy's bedroom, a study or anywhere in the house if this is your kind of art...
I started with my roughly torn piece of carboard box with no attempt to tidy up the edges at all. Out came the DPs - Fired brick first and, when that was dry, some Walnut stain dabbed around the edges:

Some strips of tissue tape have been torn, stuck to my craft mat and then stained with Peeled paint DP which has been rubbed off before it dried. This was added to the right side of the board:

This time I decided the background should be stamped. My trusty old script stamp came out as well as this great Studio 490 set by Wendy Vecchi, which is fab!:
The DPs have been used to make block-coloured backgrounds to stamp onto as well as diluting them with water to use as watercolours (using archival ink for the stamping, of course):

The embellishments have been cut from mountboard with TH dies and then painted. The crest has had sequin waste added as well as Chit chat stickers and a resin bird. Everything has been edged with Walnut stain DI using a blending tool:

The board and all the other elements have been edged with DI too before starting the layering up process. I also added a little burlap fringe at the bottom. Lastly, the Crop A Dile was used to punch and rivet the eyelets in place so that I could add a paper wire hanger:
