Well now for something a little different for me...this piece has come out of some playtime inspired by my 52 card pick up play...none blogged yet and some of the techniques I have been playing with. So I decided to get out my new stamps ( thanks hubbie )and get playing and here is the result :
I started by covering a tag with old book paper and colouring with distress stain.
Now for collecting together all the elements I wanted to try and use, this helps give a rough idea of where you want to place rub ons and stamping. ( so here I have the fab new Tim Holtz stamps...and oh boy anew hash tag ...how mush do I love these already!)
I don't always do this but when I am making a large piece or trying something a bit new , as here I may lay out elements and play around with where they go, they still end up somewhere else sometimes..that's part of the fun!
Here I have added a few rub ons to the layers to see roughly where they will go ...now for adding the rub ons, tissue tape and some stamping..building up the base layers of this collage style background.
I inked the edges with walnut stain and added some great Tim Holtz stamps, all inked in black archival. Now for the main elements..
I love this beautiful face stamp...just gorgeous and I am sure she will be inked lots! I added a love hash tag to fit in with the design...
A movers and shapers heart die cut , coloured with festive berries distress stain, spritzed and added to piece using glue and seal...creating a shadow using distress marker and glue and seal...a tip from the 52 card pick up class...(details of how can be found
on the course.)..
Finally this gorgeous stamp..oh my how gorgeous are these words...
and finally some dyed seam binding to finish the top of the tag ..
Well hope that inspires you to maybe try something a little different. x
