A Cup of Tea Warms the Soul …….

Hello everyone - Jennie here sharing a little project I made with those fabulous Graphic 45 Botanical Tea Papers.

The 8" x 8" set (as does the 12 x 12") includes some gorgeous papers and lots of little tags and labels which are just wonderful for putting together with the papers. Quite frankly you can't go wrong as everything matches so beautifully!

The little accordion mini-book and box are quite simple to make and I will take you through a step by step. In fact a little project like this is wonderful for using up lots of little scraps which you might have lying around and makes a lovely present for a special friend instead of a birthday card.

Starting with the book - I took a piece of 12 x 12 cream card stock and cut a strip measuring 12 x 4 1/2" and then scored it at 3" intervals to create four pages. These all got edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, back and front.

Then it was down to choosing which papers I wanted to use! I stuck with the pinks and browns (but the blues are just stunning too!) and used a couple of the large labels as they are just so beautiful, layering them onto cream card stock. I created a little pocket on the other two pages to hold the smaller labels. There are also lots of little strips which you can cut out and add as embellishments.

The same for the other side, but I stuck with the large labels as I couldn't decide which ones to use!
The far right hand side is the cover so I made this a little special, but you do need to keep everything flat so that it will fit in the box

And that was the book finished - and so to the box.

This is quite a straightforward box construction. Apologies for the pink card (white wasn't showing up at all!) and unfortunately I seem to have cut off the right hand flap, but at least this gives you the main measurements.

I covered the box with papers before I stuck it all together. Again I have just layered bits and pieces and used some cut outs, edging everything in Vintage Photo Distress Ink to take away the white edges. I machine stitched around the papers before sticking them down.

I used good tacky tape to stick everything together and then decorated with a few flowers made with the Tattered Florals Die, scrim and a cut out butterfly.  The ribbon was dyed with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and I punched a little hole at the top of the  left hand side in order to be able to tie the bow.

The finished book and box, all ready to warm someone's soul.

Thank you for joining me today.

Jennie x
