I am getting the last of my hand made cards done to go in the post, but already I have heard of some of you who have had to pay extra because of a few embellishments etc, so I have made this card with the idea of keeping it as flat as possible but wanting it to have lots of texture and interest in my usual vintage artsy way.
First I cut some music paper, distressed the edges and inked them with broken china and walnut stain distress inks.
I chose some patterned paper and cut it to the size of an embossing folder and ran it through Tim’s Christmas Words EF (you could choose any you already have). I dipped it in brushed corduroy distress stain, dried it and then sanded it. Next I blended broken china DI over it and finished by edging it with walnut stain.
The textured sentiment is a sizzix die and embossing folder cut and embossed in kraft card, dipped in several brown stains and dried. I ran the gathered twigs distress ink pad over it, dried it and sanded like the background.
The large snowflake was die cut and given the same treatment as the background, dipped, blended with blue then edged with walnut stain and I punched some snowflakes to add more interest.
To finish off I added a strip border edged with walnut stain.
I still have a few more cards to make and must get them in the post asap.
Hope you have a good week and as this is the last time I shall be here before Christmas I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and peaceful new year.
Gorgeous as always Brenda, i made chalkboard cards this year to keep postage costs down.
