Hi everyone, Nikki (Addicted to Art) here to share the making of this tag with you today. Sorry to say this is my second project this month with no step x step photos due to my lack of camera at the time.
I began by inking a tag with stormy sky distress ink and then spritzing and flicking some water on it. Once dry I took vintage photo ink and randomly inked through Tim Holtz's doily layering stencil.
I began by inking a tag with stormy sky distress ink and then spritzing and flicking some water on it. Once dry I took vintage photo ink and randomly inked through Tim Holtz's doily layering stencil.
I die cut the doily on the left of the tag out of some cardstock (Sissix die – On the edge – distressed doily) and used distressed paints in stormy sky, salty ocean and vintage photo. Randomly dab one colour on, dry it, move on to the next colour to give the variegated colour. The same techinque was used on the ‘Beautiful’ letters ( cut from the Sissix thinlets - Handwritten Love).
The frame under the text was coloured with distress sprays in the same colours.
My butterfly, game spinner and cogs were painted with vintage photo distress paint and a little weathered wood embossing powder added and heat embossed. The butterfly is cut from ‘Butterfly Duo’.
I added a few chit chat stickers (after inking them) and added some string to my tag.
Thanks for looking today – see you next time.
Nikki

ReplyDeleteHi Nikki! I'm loving your vintage rusty tag! Looks like you and I have been drinking the same Koolaid, because right when you were posting this gorgeous grungy artwork, I was struggling through another long post on my rusty, dusty make. Same color palette, completely different look! I love how you rusted your parts and that butterfly is to die for! Fabulous layers, too! You might want to keep an eye on your mail; I've sent you a little package. :)
