Tim Holtz Folio Workshop

The end of January saw us hold our first workshop for 2015 and a wonderful group of ladies joined me in Flitwick Village hall (Bedfordshire) for a fun but hard working day creating their own Traveller Folio.

Using the Wall Flower papers, elements from other Tim paper stacks and lots of tissue wrap, die-cuts and ephemera everyone  managed to create their own version which could be used as a travel digest, a place to keep special photos and memorabilia of a special trip or vacation or perhaps for those long forgotten family photos of years gone by.

We used the papers to cover all the parts of the folio inside and out, adding distress paints to the tissue taped areas.

People could choose which papers they wanted to use from the stash and had different coloured envelopes, matchbook book and photo mats to make the inside elements.

We added an additional page both as decoration and to enable larger photos to be added when the participants got home.

A pocket envelope to add ephemera or receipts etc.....

... flaps covered with the wallflower papers and the word journey added on the side flap.

Open it up and you can see all the waterfall elements for adding more photos etc.

A huge thank you to all the ladies for all their hard work .....

.... for sharing and caring .......

.... for some fun and laughter ......

..... for being a huge help clearing up ..........

..... for staying focussed.....

...... for making 'hard' decisions (lol) ........

..... and for being a brilliant group to work with.

If you are interested in learning how to do some simple bookbinding techniques and want to make some of your own then the next workshop could be just what you are looking for. All the details are up on the shop site with further explanations of what we will cover and details about the venue.

Thanks for staying with me if you have got this far and if you are one of our workshop participants - see you soon.

  1. Hi Brenda, it was such a brilliant workshop, I still have a couple of finishing touches to make and I am delighted with my folio. The hall at Flitwick is brilliant and the ladies all such fun. I laughed at seeing how much I tend to stand up when crafting, old habits die hard. Thanks for all you hard work, you are such a brilliant teacher.Sadly I can't make the March date as it's my parents Diamond wedding anniversary but I am sure you will have a great day as always. Hugs xx
