#blessed

Hello and welcome to my second project for this month. I am still on my quest for ideas for Post Friendly Cards and decided to combine stamping and my dies for this little 4" x 4" card. I am #blessed to have four lovely old school friends to travel with every year. We have been to Paris and London and we are soon to be going to New York, so this combination of stamps were just perfect to commemorate our forthcoming trip.

I used Ranger Manilla Cardstock for my background and Tim Holtz's Wrinkle Free Distress Technique. I squished Evergreen Bough and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink onto my craft mat, spritzed with water and picked up a bit of ink at a time, drying with the heat gun in between. This cardstock being slightly thicker and with a waxy coating works so well when watery inks are involved.

I used a Ruler Stamp and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink in the top left and bottom right of the piece, stamping off first so I had a lighter impression. Then using the same Brushed Corduroy I stamped the Paris/NewYork/London in the corners as well. More Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink was blended around the edges.

A small piece of ribbon mopped up the inks on the craft mat and I set to using the same Distress Inks to create my embellishments. It is amazing the different colours you can get from one colour of ink, blending hard, blending softly, stamping off first before stamping.

I layered my pieces on my background but realised the top right hand corner was a little empty and this small Paris stamp just fitted the bill nicely. Then out came the sewing machine and I stitched around the outside edges which holds the ribbon nicely without any glueing.

Then the last of the embellishments were layered on the top - no sticky fixers, just good old fashioned layering!

I really love the way this card came together - these two colours work so well together and the Wrinkle Free Distress background is just the perfect foil for stamping on.

Thank you for joining me today and I hope you are #blessed too!
