Bottle Shrine

Hi Everyone it's Brenda here wishing you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR  from everyone at Country View Crafts. It's been a busy holiday but we are back with our inspirational projects to hopefully give you some ideas to make projects of your own and use items from the shop as well as some you might already have.

Little houses seem to be all the rage at the moment so I thought I would make my own little bottle shrine for the Country View Crafts Project blog and to fit with the new Country View Challenge for January.

I die-cut the shrine shape using Tim's artful dwellings die and an arched movers and shapers die. I also cut card to fill in the sides and make the roof.

Using my scrap box of Tim papers covered the front and back, sanded the edges and inked them. I also decided to re-cut the sides and roof using a length of patterned paper.  The side piece was scored and adhered first to the back part.

I also die-cut a patterned piece of the main shape to line the back of the shrine.

The little bottle was chosen to fit in with the new challenge at Country View Challenges and was first given a coat of 'glue 'n seal' before dabbing on broken china distress stain and then some hydrangea and potting soil archival inks. A full tutorial can be found on Wendy Vecchi's blog and I filled the bottle with all the little heart beads you can see in the photo.

I finished by adding some Tim industrious sticker borders and chit chat words on the roof.

The word happiness comes from the big chat stickers.

Thanks for all your support and comments, we really appreciate you stopping by and look forward to a new year filled with lots of creativity and inspiration.

hugs Brenda xxx
