Ocean Adventure

Hello Everyone, Jennie here with you today and welcome to the first of my projects for this month. I am back making another page in my Big Ticket book and had great fun experimenting with the wonderful new Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron Distress Inks.

I started my background by first stamping that wonderful Dream stamp (one of my all time favourites) with Versamark and embossing with white embossing powder. I used the Wrinkle Free Distress technique to get the ink on the cardstock (the Tim Holtz video for this technique can be found HERE). I used Mermaid Lagoon, Twisted Citron and Blue Sapphire - such a gorgeous mix! I added a little Vintage Photo around the edges and used a small text stamp and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink to add a bit of interest.  Finally I added some splatters of Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain.

I wanted to use one of Tim's Flashcards and overstamped with some of the small stamps from the Correspondence Set.  I found some other corresponding elements and gave the die cut cog a covering of Mermaid Lagoon and Blue Sapphire. (You can see how good I am at die cutting !)

Then I assembled all the elements using some foam pads to create a bit of depth.

And the cog fitted perfectly under the flashcard! nobody will even know it was a fluffed cut!

And so another page for my book! I do find that the size of this ticket die at 51/4" x 31/2" is just perfect for experimenting. Not too small but large enough not to feel daunted by it.  I will certainly be back with some more experiments!

Thank you for joining me today. Have fun.

Jennie x

  1. Wonderful ocean inspired ticket Jennie, fabulous colour palette and love the white embossed stamp on the background. And I'm sure you meant to cut the cog that way so it would fit alongside the flashcard, right?! Deb xo

  2. A beautiful ticket! The white embossing looks so pretty against the blue. I never paid much attention to that TH Classics #14 stamp set before. That Dream stamp is gorgeous.
