Art in Bloom !

Hello and welcome to today's post ! It's Sue here and today I'm sharing a tag made with lots of the lovely Fresco Finish paints.

I started with a jumbo tag and dusted off my Gelli Plate using die cut pieces and stencils to create the pattern in the Fresco Finish paint on the plate.  I used Yellow Submarine, Claret and Smoked Paprika.

I then used the Tim Holtz Classics 4 set and stamped the text all over the tag.

I used the PaperArtsy Mini 44 and stamped the script using Cheesecake Fresco Finish paint and then stencilled some tiny dots too.

The large flowers are from the Lin Brown 04 set and I've stamped them onto black card using Fresco Finish paints, Cheesecake, Yellow Submarine and Claret. I've used the same Mini to stamp the script over the top before cutting them out. I then used the stamp from the Lin Brown 01 set and stamped onto shrink plastic, cutting away parts of the flower I didn't want. The leaves are cut using the Tim Holtz Garden Greens die, these were the die cuts that I used on the Gelli Plate so they were already painted !

The text is from the Lin Brown 01 set too and I've stamped them on to mount board that I've painted, then I dipped them into some beeswax (which you can't see on this photo) but it adds a satin sheen to it. The smaller flower is a stamp from the Lin Brown 04 set and stamped in the same way as the others. The little flower in the centre is plastic and I've painted it with Fresco Finish paint, Claret, and brushed White Fire Treasure Gold over it. The little bird is from the PaperArtsy Hotpicks 1005 set and it's been stamped onto shrink plastic. As the plastic is clear the bird can sit either way around, which worked out well !

To finish I added some buttons and lace from my stash and some seam binding ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you've enjoyed my project.

  8. A beautiful tag. I just don't know how you artist people do all that layering without it looking all glumped up. Anyway, love the intensity here, color and design.
