Can you believe it? Here we are once again, crafting for Valentine's Day! I fell in love with a set of Eclectica³ stamps by Darcy and couldn't wait to use them. (You'll see them appear again shortly [g].) So here is a simple card for those of you that don't have a lot of time...
I started by making my own A5 red card base from some red Centura pearl card and cut mats from black (border) and plain red (main layer):
I stamped with clear embossing ink and covered with black embossing powder:
Then I took the top off of my embossing dabber and painted the fluid into the hearts before covering with clear embossing powder:
Once heated it gives a lovely contrast to the matte card:
Next came some Cranberry Color wash to lift it a little - spray and wait for the card to dry before wiping the excess away carefully from the glossy embossed hearts:
It gives a glimmer as well as a texture:
Simply mount on the black card...
...then reach for Tim's Simple sayings:
The banner die from this VERY USEFUL Sizzix Framelits banner set is invaluable:
All that remain is to add the sentiment and stick the base to the card:
And here we go:
Have fun making yours,
A fabulous design and the deep red with the black is gorgeous.
