I made a very large piece for me to show off the beautiful blooms...and the gorgeous greenery which is going to be much used and loved...I can tell!
So I started by creating a background on the canvas...I applied Wendy Vecchi embossing paste in white through a Tim stencil in areas, then when dry I set to work with my Distress paints...antique linen...love this colour! I smooshed and spritzed and dripped until happy...These colours marble and smoosh so well with water and when dry are set for good!
I then added some ink in frayed burlap and walnut stain and flicked with water and dried...how cool that this removes the ink but not the paint as once dry it will not re -wet! When dry I added some stamped script randomly. I also added some flicks of paint with my splatter brush.
Now I die cut some flowers, lightly inked, lots of watery scrunching and then left to dry . When dry I unfurled and layered up, love the texture this gives! I added a rusty bell for the centre and some gorgeous greenery cut from Tim Holtz paper.
Now for the butterflies ( inspired by all the gorgeous nature themed new Tim goodies that I have drooled over from CHA I think!) . So I cut some butterflies from a piece of paper from Tim Holtz paper stack and added colour using my waterbrush and distress markers.
Some paper coated wire from a garden store completes the make, hope you like it!
keep those fingers inky!
Stunning Trace, the background is just gorgeous and I LOVE the big flowers, they look so wonderfully tattered. The greenery looks super too ad the curled wire and rusty bell finish it off to perfection!
