Hotel Europa

This tag is named after the label stamp that I’ve used. Those of you that know my work will also know that I have a tendency to make my projects quite colourful and today is no exception…

HotelEuropa18

Starting with a manilla tag, Tim’s Harlequin Layering stencil and some grunge paste:

Once the grunge paste had dried, on went patches of Iced spruce, Evergreen bough, Seedless preserve and Wild honey DIs. The whole tag was misted with water to blend the inks together:

The tag was heat dried so that I could apply the next layers of ink – Black soot DI through the Burlap layering stencil and Evergreen bough through the Dot fade layering stencil:

There are two stamp sets used for the stamping (both Tim’s). The ‘Admit one’ (stamped with Evergreen bough) and pointing hand (stamped with Seedless preserve) come from Little labels – CMS120 and the Hotel Europa badge (stamped in Black soot) from Travel labels – CMS108:

The flower has been made from 2 die cuts from the Tattered florals Bigz die which have then been run through the Collage Texture fade, edged with black DI then glued and a  pastel purple pearl brad added. The other embellishments used are some natural twine, a metal alphabet token and an Idea-ology arrow:

I also added some die cut debris (black) behind the alphabet token to make it look a bit like a medal. (?) The whole tag was then edged in black DI:

Thanks for joining in today, have a fab weekend!

  1. The colour combination you used is fantastic Chris and I love the stenciling. I rarely remember to stamp with DI's but seeing this beauty will encourage me to do so in future! Beautiful work! A x
