Journal/Notebook cover

Do you remember the masterboard I made for the challenge blog at the beginning of the month? Well I decided to use part of it to make a cover for a small journal. You can see the full tutorial of how to make the board HERE.

I cut the masterboard in half and gathered some embellishments and elements that I thought I would like to use and had fun making a small collage.

I had added some further layers to the background before gluing anything down. You can see some stencilling with distress inks and some text stamping.

I also cut some letters from card for the journal focus, painted them with Fresco Finish paints and edged them with walnut stain distress ink.

I used the pewter FF paint on the stars and stamped over them with black archival.

Once everything was glued down I adhered the board to the front of a small journal……

…. and now it’s ready to be used.

The fun in making your own covers is knowing that no-one will ever have one exactly the same (even me lol).

If you haven’t joined in the challenge yet, perhaps you'd like to get out your stencils and have a go at making a journal or notebook cover for yourself and then show it to us on the challenge blog.

Have fun with whatever you are making this week.
