Candlelight Christmas

I love candlelight and I fell in love with the new Candlelight Die as soon as I saw it. So today I am sharing one of the Christmas Cards I have made using the die.

I cut the candle pieces in white board and inked the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  The smaller pieces are a bit fiddly but it is worth the time as they look so fabulous when layered.  The flames were coloured with Scattered Straw Distress Ink  and the inner flame covered with Glossy Accents. Then it is just a matter of layering the pieces in order to get this fabulous 3D effect!

The flowers were made using the smallest of the Tattered Florals die edged with Vintage Photo and scrunched up a bit.  The addition of a few stamens makes such a pretty flower.

I cut a leaf from the Tattered Pinecone using Core'dinations Sandable Cardstock and used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to get the fresh green colour on the ribbon.

The Cameo Frame die makes a lovely backdrop for the two candles.  I cut it first in greyboard and then from some old Christmas paper and managed to make use of the lovely sentiment already printed on the paper.  I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Everything was then layered onto a 6" x 6" card base with a greenish colour mat which didn't really match but once I had blended a little Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges didn't look too bad!

Thank you for joining me today and I hope your Christmas preparations are running to schedule - unlike mine!!

Jennie
